Athirappally – Calicut – Wayanad- Kannur
Day 01 : Cochin – Athirappally (80kms/ 02 Hrs)
Morning proceed to Athirapally,which has attained much publicity being the location of the Bollywood blockbuster ‘Ravan ‘. On arrival check in at Hotel Rain Forest . Here, you have the luxury of choosing to soak in the misty sprays of the cascading Athirapally waterfalls at Chalakudyriver. Or simply rest your eyes on the lush green of the pristine Sholayar rainforest. Let your senses awaken to the chants of the wild: the rumble of the 80-foot high waterfalls and the busy chatter of exotic birds. Besides, at the Rainforest, going natural does not equate to being austere. Slip into the welcoming warmth of silky quilts or down a delicious drink as you lounge in your well-appointed room. Over night at the resort.
Day 02 :Athirappally – Calicut (160 Kms – 04 Hrs)
After breakfast proceed to Calicut. On arrival check into Hotel. Later visit Pazhassi raja Museum and Krishna Menon Museum then to Beyporeboat building yard ( closed on all national / regional holidays. Also please note boat building is not an year round process, function of the yard purely depends upon the order they get) Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 03 : Calicut – Wayanad (80 kms / 03 Hrs)
After breakfast proceed to Wayanad. On arrival check in at hotel.Rest of the day at leisure for independent activities (car will be at disposal). Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 04 :Wayanad
After breakfast proceed to visit Edakkal caves (which remain closed on Mondays & Public holidays) an 18th century Neolithic cave. After noon visit Muthanga Wild life sanctuary. (Entry open from 07.00 till 09.00 Hrs and 15.00 hrs till 17.00 Hrs), offering a rare chance to see herd of elephants, deer’s, gaurs ,etc Or Go for a full day trek to Chembra Peak (the highest point in Wayanad / recommended only for those who are physically fit ) with guide. Overnight at the resort.
Day 05 :Wayanad – Kannur (120 Kms / 04.30 Hrs)
After breakfast proceed to Kannur. Check into your Home Stay. Afternoon go for a drive through the Muzhupilangad drive in beach, the only drive in beach in Kerala. Late evening experience the Theyyam dance performance (Theyyam or Theyattam is a ritual art performed in the Malabar region i.e. in North Kerala. Kolathunaad (Kannur and Kasargod Districts) is famous for this dance. Theyyam or Theyatam derives is name from Deyvam meaning ‘God’ and Attam meaning 'Dance'. It is hence an awe-inspiring dance of the Gods. It is also known as Thira or Thirayattam in the southern Malabar region. Theyyam is one of the profound ritual arts performed in Kerala with utmost fervor and supreme ardor. Religious reverence runs high and the artist himself is said to experience a oneness with the Divine in the course of performing this dance) Over night at Hotel.
Day 06 :Leave Kannur.
After breakfast transfer to railway station for onward journeys.
